According to Time Magazine a German sexual-health educator has designed a customizable fit spray on condom so that Men will get the right fit instead of the uncomfortable one size fits all drugstore/ gas station version that can be cumbersome due to improper fit (generally the condom is too big). Unfortunately they will not be available until 2011 and by then I plan to be married and solely using birth control. But If I’m still a bachelorett this sounds like the perfect solution to men who purchase Magnums and really should be buying Trojan sized regular. Ladies this means no more disappointment once the package is in the gift wrap because he thought he was a magnum. It’s time to PIMP MY RIDE!

Personal Style in this Economy

I have a weakness for high fashion and I absolutely love the pairing of an elite designer label accessories with an inexpensive classic but trendy outfit. Personally I can’t afford to follow all of the runway trends and keep up with all the styles so I’m create my own. Fortunately, living in New York City anything goes when it comes to fashion. I wear what I like to call a fashion ensemble, which entails a combination of styles and clothes that I cordinate to tell a story. When I look in the mirror I like to ask my self two questions:

1. Would I do me? (This makes sure the sexy factor is there) 2. Do I look like a celebrity ? (Everyone likes to look and feel important) I make a concious effort to invest my fashion budget in four items: a nice watch, a pair of fly sunglasses, high end bag, and fashionable but classic shoe. These items and a good hair style go along way and help you look pulled together.

This summer I’ve decided to be a combination of Pocahontas and Venus the goddess of love and beauty. I love the Tribal look and the Grecian looks. I’ve always had an element of ultra feminine and tribal but this summer I’m taking it up a notch. The combination is sultry and sophisticated. I’m doing this by adding ethnic earrings, gladiator sandals, a flirty purse and of the shoulder tops to my wardrobe. I’m keeping it simple without compromising my level of fashion. The economy is giving me a chance to be creative and explore vendors outside of my usual comfort zone.

Although I enjoy pampering myself with mani’s and pedi’s 20 minutes, a bottle of drugstore nail polish, a file and a dish pan can do the trick. When I shop I like pieces that are versitle and span all four seasons with the change of accories. Not to say I don’t have seasonal staples, because of course I do and I do own trendy clothes that I know will be out of style in a year but I dont invest in thoes pieces. My biggest personal stlyle is that if I have the opportunity I opt not to pay retail and I don’t shop at department stores. My favorite places to shop are E-bay, TJ MAXX, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory, and Street vendors. If you have a style you can find it, sometimes you have to look, but to me that’s what makes shopping fun!

Who doesn’t want to wear a funky fun garment? This season is all about ruffles and so am I so here goes one of my favorite finds courtesy of Elle magazine. This Denim Marc by Marc Jacobs Dress is whimsical and flirty with an edge. Paired up with a cute jelly sandal or a leather gladiator sandal this is perfect for lunch with the girls or a movie date. So apparently I’m having a Imelda Marcos moment because there are several shoes I have taken to. I couldn’t help but to share these beautifully crafted Dillian python pumps from Christian Louboutin. I love a shoe that is SEXY, GORGEOUS and FUN. The Christian Louboutin Dillian is worthy of a 5 star drool rating. Too bad I do not live the lifestyle that would require me to own such an extravagant pair of shoes. But a girl can dream.

Flip Flop Envy

So on my hunt for the perfect summer sandal I discovered a pair of Chanel flip flops that are sure to be a summer favorite. The Chanel Camilla, this Jelly flip flop is super cute but very pricey. These are chic and fun but how much are you willing to pay for a stylish accessory? I must say compared to all of the glittery colorful Jelly sandals out right now this is a polished twist that lends it self to Trend but exemplifies a refined level of taste. At $345 it’s impressive that as always Chanel has showcased their ability to distinguish themselves the rest. These sandals are sure to give anyone who does not own a pair ….dare I say, flip flop envy.

So In additon to a fabulous watch this summer you’d have to be hiding under a rock not to notice that a flat strappy sandal/ gladiator sandal to accentuate the absolute worst part of the majoritys body is this summers MUST HAVE! I’ve been on a mission to find a floral sandal and a unique sandal. This years market place has them every where but they all look the same. I mean yes they are simply constructed so I refuse to spend a weeks salary on them but I would like a sandal that distinguishes me from the masses. Every girl wants a sandal that makes other ladies stop you on the street and say something to the tune of “I love your sandals where did you get them?” The hard part now is finding that pair. In a city with such variety as New York you’d think it would be easier. The quest continues……

So I haven’t updated my opinion on the housewives, they are kind of overwhelming. I will get to them because I do feel the need to express how rediculous they are and further delve into the “fight club”.

I love fashion! Here are some great finds that I felt I just had to share.

For summer 2009 it’s no secret that a fabulous watch is the perfect accessory, and if you’ve opened the pages of any magazine the must have watch is a ceramic watch. I went into Tourneau to window shop the newest collections for summer and came across a ton of ceramic watches from Chanel to TechnoMarine. Due to their price tag these beautiful watches are just not practical but I found a watch that will give you the same glam look at reasonable price.
